Sand….isn’t it fascinating? It’s makeup, locations, and varied uses could prove to make a quite interesting study if we were to take the time to research it.
On a recent visit to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland, OR. I was fascinated by a display of the shifting sands in Egypt’s Sinai Desert region.
The display showed how the wind caused the sands to shift and I was reminded of the idiom “If the sands are shifting, circumstances are changing.”
The shifting sands of time can cause many changes to take place in our lives.
As the winds of change blow, things familiar to us may be lost or hidden as the sands of time cover up our present hopes and dreams. Yet, that same wind might be un-covering something new that we need to see or something yet un-known to us that we might want to discover.
Never look at change as a bad thing, for even though it might be un-comfortable or might even cause us pain or sorrow, we need to look for what it might bring into our life that could be good.
Look at change as God’s hand moving us in a new direction which is according to the plan and purpose He has for our lives and even though the shifting might cause us not to be able to see the reason for it all, we can trust that it will be for our good because it is His Hand that is bringing it all about.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 [NKJV]
